Our family moved to the Big island in 2010 with a dream of starting our own family farm from which to raise our children. Both my Husband and I have a background in organic farming and a strong interest in medicinal plants. From the moment we harvested our first Kali Haldi (Black Turmeric) rhizome and caught sight of that distinct, cool, blue color, we knew we were on to something special. After researching the rich medicinal history of this amazing plant we continued to replant more each year, expanding our gardens. 

Situated on the slope of the worlds most active volcano, KALI HALDI Body Products was born out of our desire to share this unique plant with the rest of the world. Simple, sustainable skincare for a socially conscious, active consumer.

Black turmeric is a rare variety of turmeric native to the highlands of India. The color of the rhizome is blue and has a rich camphor aroma. Its leaves are green with a distinguishing purple center rib. 

 Black turmeric is not only anti-inflammatory, anti fungal, antibacterial, and an antioxidant, but it speeds the healing of the skin cells, clears skin acne and repairs damaged skin after sunburn, cuts, or rashes.  Medicinal, cultural, and spiritual uses are thought to be much more potent than orange turmeric. We grow our black turmeric sustainably on our family farm and plant more each year ensuring it will be around for future generations.
